FaStain is a Coomassie Brilliant Blue dye based protein staining solution which provides a fast, convenient and sensitive method for staining proteins separated in both native and SDS-PAGE gels. The staining procedure is very straightforward — just simply incubate gels in the staining solution until protein bands are developed. The procedure requires 15 minutes of washing and 15 minutes of staining. It takes only 30 minutes to detect as little as 5 ng of protein on a water-clear background.
Features
Convenient -
Ready-to-use
Simple -
One-step, no destaining step required
Fast -
30 minutes for standard staining procedure (3 × 5 minutes washing & 15 minutes staining)
Sensitive -
More sensitive than Coomassie Brilliant Blue R-250, 5 ng of protein can be detected.
Safe -
No methanol or acetic acid
Money saving -
Can be reused up to 3 times
Applications
For both native PAGE or SDS-PAGE gels
Excellent for densitometry for visualization and quantification
Compatible with mass spectrometry
Protein staining after transfer onto PVDF membranes.
Notes
The signal of can be visualized within 5 minutes, and achieve to maximum in 30 minutes.
To enhance sensitivity and reduce background, wash the gel with water from 1 hour to overnight after staining.
Quality Control
Standard protein BSA (1 - 1000 ng) in different amounts were electrophoresed on 12% Tris-glycine SDS gel. Minimum 10 ng BSA should be detected by the staining in a clear background.
