Description

α-apo-oxytetracycline (oxytetracycline related compound D) is an oxytetracycline metabolite which forms most readily in acidic and basic media rather than relatively neutral environments. Other oxytetracycline metabolites include 4-epi-oxytetracycline (oxytetracycline related compound A) and β-apo-oxytetracycline (oxytetracycline related compound E). α-apo-oxytetracycline is sparingly soluble in water (0.2 mg/mL).Application:α-apo-oxytetracycline is commonly used as a secondary standard.
