Cytochem and Transposagen Biopharmaceuticals, Inc., have established a joint service offering for the development of custom genetically modified rat models that are fully characterized by gene expression data tailored to the customer's specific needs. Transposagen is a leader in genetically modified rats, with cutting-edge custom model generation services and nearly 300 o rat models. The combination of Transposagen's innovative gene-modification technologies with Cytochem's high-definition, whole-body gene mapping tools will create unique capabilities to produce custom rat models with complete expression profiles of both the wild type and genetically modified animal at any desired developmental age. Both whole animal and cellular level gene expression studies are available.

The unique knowledge base derived from this collaboration will have broad applications ranging from target discovery and validation to in vivo PK/PD studies of new drug candidates. These custom genetically modified rats will address the growing need for well-characterized translational models for the development of novel therapeutics.
